Have a Question?
Here are some of the questions I’m most asked by my clients/potential clients. If you don’t see your question feel free to ask me in the comments section below. I’ll either answer right here on the page or setup a time to speak with you, if you need more info.
The cost of building a website can vary. It depends on the type of site you are trying to build. It also depends on factors like time frame, site functionalities, number of custom pages you need designed, content creation, and the list goes on.
It also depends on the developer you choose. Remember you get what you pay for. If someone is offering to build you a $300 website it will look like a $300 website.
In truth what I’ve found is the average website for a small business can cost anywhere from $600 (low range) – to over $5000 easily. It just depends on what you really want and need out of your site.
Another factor is your web hosting platform.
Whether you are going with Shopify, Wix, Godaddy Site Builder, or any one of the many other web hosting platforms, one thing you will definitely need is a premium domain name.
Now ask yourself.
Do you want total control over your sites design and its functionalities?
Do you need you site to do more than just showcase your pictures and content?
What if your site or blog gets really big do you want to make it scalable for the future?
As you can see there are lots of factors that go into determining the cost of website design. The best way is to discuss your true online needs with your team then sit down with your developer hash out all the details.
On average I’d say it takes about 4-6 weeks to build a professional website using WordPress. Check out my Web Design Process post for more info on my design process
Right now I am using Upworks direct contracts method to take payments. It’s a safe and secure way for developers and their clients to share information, process payments, and settle diputes.
When we begin our project I will email you a contract complete with project details, and milestones.
I do hourly contracts as well for my optimization and maintenance services.
Sometime in the near future I will start taking payments directly through my site. But Upwork works perfectly for now.
I have a blog post where I have detailed my web design process. You can view it here
WordPress is a what we call a content management system or (CMS). What it does, it allows the developer to build out dynamic website templates or (themes) and set them to function in way that allows the end user to easily add and place content. WordPress is a totally free and fully customizable platform that literally powers more than half of the websites in the world!
You can pretty much get a Domain name from any Web Hosting platform. A domain name is the www. address that directs users to your website. Your web host is the online property your websites files are actually displayed from. Check out my post on Domain Names and Web Hosting for more information.
